(Hybrid: local presence with potential for remote vendor management)

Type: Freelance to potential full-time

About Timeless Society
Timeless Society is on a mission to transform how the world experiences classical music. Based in Lucerne – one of the world’s great music cities – we create immersive, educational, and emotionally resonant productions that help new audiences fall in love with symphonic repertoire.

Our flagship concept, the Timeless Experience, pairs live orchestral performance with captivating storytelling, narration, and original animation. The aim is to make great works of the classical canon accessible, engaging, and unforgettable for emotionally curious audiences who may have little prior exposure to this music.

Role Overview We are seeking a Creative Director to lead the artistic and production vision for Timeless Society’s multimedia storytelling. This role starts on a freelance/project basis with the intention of growing into a full-time leadership position.

You will be the bridge between our artistic vision and the teams who will bring it to life – from animation studios in Eastern Europe to local musicians, narrators, and stage technicians. Your job is to ensure that every visual, every note, and every word works together to create transformative audience experiences.

Key Responsibilities
Vision Development – Shape and evolve the creative style for Timeless Experiences, including narrative tone, animation style, and integration with live performance.

Storytelling Direction – Translate complex musical ideas into accessible, emotionally engaging visual narratives that resonate with audiences new to classical music.

Vendor Selection & Management – Identify, vet, and manage external partners (animation studios, illustrators, production crews) in Switzerland and abroad, with a focus on Eastern Europe for animation outsourcing.

Creative Quality Control – Oversee the development of scripts, storyboards, character designs, and animation to ensure fidelity to the Timeless Society vision.

Collaboration with Orchestras & Artists – Work closely with orchestral musicians, conductors, and narrators to align live performance with visual storytelling.

Pilot Project Leadership – Lead the production of a pilot Timeless Experience segment, balancing quality, cost, and timeline.

Brand Development – Help define a recognizable visual identity for Timeless Society across multiple works and media formats.

Brand Development

  • Proven experience in creative direction for animation, multimedia, or live event production.

  • Strong background in 2D animation storytelling (experience with educational or TED-Ed style content a plus).

  • Ability to translate artistic vision into clear production briefs for remote teams.

  • Understanding of music and visual narrative integration – ideally with exposure to classical music or other performance arts.

  • Experience managing international vendors and remote creative teams

  • Fluency in German and English (both spoken and written).

  • Passion for audience development in the arts and willingness to experiment with new forms of engagement.
